In Vitro Fertilization.

IVF is now recognized as a “first line” procedure for many conditions like endometriosis, tubal disease and male factor infertility if intrauterine inseminations (IUI) are contraindicated.

If male factor infertility occurs due to the production of too few sperm cells, or sperm of poor morphology and motility, then Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) may be the treatment of choice where one sperm cell is inserted directly into the egg.

Pre-Implantation Genetic Screening.

In cases of unexplained infertility, frequent pregnancy losses or miscarriages this problem can be prevented or diminished. The embryos are produced via In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) and then biopsied 5 to 6 days later. The biopsy is conducted to identify the embryos with a normal number of chromosomes. The technique used to examine the chromosome material of an embryo is known as Preimplantation Genetic Screening (PGS).

PGD for Gender Diagnosis.

PGD is a technique that can be used to diagnose specific chromosome or genetic conditions in embryos before they are transferred to the mother. As gender is a function of chromosomes it can be also diagnosed. So PGD just tell us what if the condition is present or not. As its name indicates it is a diagnostic tool. On the other hand, “gender pre-selection” is a procedure in which the proportion of sperm bearing X or Y chromosomes may be modified to change the ratio or probability of having a baby of the desired gender. Many conditions non related to infertility per-se can be alleviated by PGD.

Intra Citoplasmic Sperm Injection.

ntra Cytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) is a procedure by which a single sperm is inserted with the aid of a micro needle into the cytoplasm of a mature oocyte. This procedure is recommended for severe cases of male factor infertility, unexplained infertility or low fertilization rates after conventional IVF. ICSI is conducted as a part of a cycle in which the ovaries of the female partner or egg donor are stimulated with hormones to increase the production of oocytes.

Assisted Hatching.

It has been proposed that a certain number of otherwise viable embryos do not implant simply because they are unable to break free from the surrounding “jelly coat” (zona pellucida) when they reach the blastocyst stage of development. Around an unfertilized egg there exists a transparent glyco-protein coat that acts to protect the egg and regulate normal fertilization by any penetrating sperm. This jelly-like coat continues to protect the early preimplantation embryo until, as a blastocyst, the embryo fills itself up with fluid like a water-filled balloon, pumping itself larger and larger until it ruptures and “hatches” from the zona pellucida.

Real experiences
know the history of our patients

“After 3 years trying to get pregnant and 2 loses, we were giving up because of the pain and suffering always expecting a positive result that only occurred for a few weeks. We decided for the last time to treat at FERTILITE CENTER ASSISTED REPRODUCTION. It was a heavy route because we were coming from another city to see Dr. Walters. There were several trips and hours of anguish not knowing what would happen at the end. After months of preparation and treatment, we can say that all the effort and dedication was rewarded to see the birth and to have our little angel in our arms. Dr. Fabian Walters and his team were very attentive, understanding and with their experience they helped us to fulfill our dream of being parents. We thank you all.”
